Dream Catchers participate in Capoeira Sul da Bahia
Before Winter break, Dream Catchers had the unique opportunity to participate in a capoeira workshop and performance led by Capoeira Sul da Bahia. The girls learned about the history of capoeira, saw many talented students perform, and then got to practice several basic capoeira moves. Little did the girls know that they were going to have the chance to practice those skills! When the group leader, Roberto Tapia, had the group form a circle and pair off students with the girls, there was significant fear. In true Dream Catchers spirit, the girls impressed the capoeira students as they put in place all that they learned during the workshop. Capoeira is a complex and beautiful sport, and our girls did a great job.
